Closed for Pick-Your-Own Apples
The 2023 apple picking season has come to and end, and what a season it was. Mother Nature decided to try out all her weather repertoire and we experienced drought, heat, heavy rain, hail, cold and high winds all in a short period of time! But we weathered her storm with much laughter and good friends.
We are happy that so many of you came to visit and spend the day in our orchard with us. We enjoyed hearing about your families and how many generations have come to visit over our 52 years. It was fun to watch you wait for friends and family to pull in the parking lot and to share in your reunions. We especially enjoyed the visit from the couple, who became engaged at our orchard last year, and their friends make the trip again this year! We knew Ruth was smiling each time one of you came to share your story with us. This was her favorite time of year.
As we close the chapter on this season, we thank you and toast all of you with a hot Rinker’s Apple Cider.
Till we meet again,
Greetings from the orchard! It has been a hot, dry summer here at Rinker Orchards. The result is smaller apples but history has shown that when we have a season like this, the apples may be smaller but they are sweeter!
The apples are growing and adding their sugar and we will be ready for picking beginning on Saturday, September 9th. The Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, Fuji, and Ida Red apples will be ready on this date.
Our hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM beginning Saturday September 9th through Columbus Day, October 9, 2023.
Rinker’s Apple Cider will be available in gallons and ½ gallons. The Stephens City Lions Club will be here with their apple butter for sale and will be manning their copper kettles on September 9th , 23rd, and October 7th. They will have apple butter for sale on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season.
Other friends of Rinker Orchards will be joining us throughout the season so be sure to check your emails for our weekly newsletter to see what is going on in the orchard and in the community.
